First of all, I wanted to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all of your prayers and concerns.

The city has been phenomenal giving me access to the best health care possible.

As of Monday afternoon my wife Mary will have a trust fund set up through the Federal Patrolmens Credit Union under my name. We are awaiting confirmation on an interview we will be doing with CNN on Tuesday evening on the accident, spinal cord injury and the impact on our family etc...

We also plan to leave for a rehab facility in Denver CO, one of the best in the nation for spinal cord injury where my wife and I live together and rehabilitate and educate ourselves as a family. My children can visit and stay with us as often as they can for free for up to a month at a time, they encourage family/friend interaction as much as possible.

My injury is an incomplete spinal cord injury so we are very hopeful. My progress is moving forward at a very rapid pace. I have been eating and drinking whatever I want I have moved my arm though very very exausting and flexed my bicept. I have feeling down to my toes. I get more and more sensations back everyday. The way my legs feel today are the way my arms felt a couple weeks ago. a lot of pain and burning sensations twitching etc. I have had very little physical therapy as of yet. This is still considered a very new injury. I still have a lot of swelling of the spinal cord. Until I begin therapy there is no way to tell, I aint givin up!

Yes, what happened in the car after the crash is what led to the state I am in right now. If I had not been moved I may have been moving today. I thank all of my fellow brothers for catchin the guys, watchin the house, waking Sadie (Dahill), and most of all taking care of my wife Mary.

I am getting very tired, I did not sleep much last night. So today, visitors I am asking only be from 3 to 6pm please (just for today)so I (we) can catch up on sleep a bit I had a lot of back pain last night. I still have a lot to say and many to personally thank but thank is all I can do for right now, sorry.

Our deepest sincerest thanks to all of 022...it is on the laptop that they purchased us for our wedding gift that Mary writes this for me, I apologize for the delay by the way! If you have questions about my status, health or anything ask me or my wife. Any funds or information will have our names attached to it or they may be frauds, so you wil hear directly from us.

I (Mary) want to express my deepest gratitude as well. I purchased a binder for all the business cards, I have my journal of phone #'s ans emails. We try to update his facebook together, but I check mine(Mary Cole) at least every couple of days. We will try to update this site as well as others now that I set up an account whenever we have a chance. As soon as we get to rehab, I will pass that info along as well.

Thnak you all, my brother in law and other family members will be staying at our home with our dog while we are away, I will leave #'s with him if he needs help as well.

  7. Densey, let me try this again...I haven't been on my Google account in quite awhile...sorry about the above SNAFU...

Densey, my family's thoughts and prayers are with you in this difficult time. I am third generation CPD and a proud brother in blue. Life is not fair. We all have to go through trials and tribulations...some of us more than others. The important thing to remember while you are enduring and overcoming these obstacles is that you are a survivor. Whatever doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger...
Your willpower is a great testament to your intestinal fortitude and character! Densey, you WILL succeed. Godspeed in your therapy and your future endeavors my brother! Carpe Diem!!!

    Respectfully yours,
    Martin E. Tully

  12. Densey, glad to hear that you are settling in out in Colorado. If ever you need anything don't hesitate to call. You know how to get in touch. Myself, Capt D, Marty Gainer, etc, will take care of it, period.
P.S. My parents and sisters also say hello, and wish you the best as well. You have my business card with the cellphone and e-mail account written on the back, so that should be a clue as to who it is (think about the comic books).

  15. To all the POs, friends and well wishers,
this is Densey's new sister-in-law. I spoke to Mary this morning and she and Densey arrived in CO safely on Wednesday. The doctors and staff at Craigs are very positive and upbeat and have put no limitiations on his recovery. Densey has even more movement in his arm and therapy hasn't even (officially) begun yet. For those of you that wish to send cards or letters to Densey while he is in CO, the address to the hospital is:
    Densey Cole
    c/o Craig Hospital
    3425 S. Clarkson St.
    Englewood, CO 80113

Densey and Mary will be moving to an onsite apartment soon and if the mailing address changes we will update as soon as possible.
On behalf of Densey's (new) extended family, Thank you to everyone for the support we have received in these last weeks. Your comments, offers of help & prayers etc. are very appreciated and we can't thank you enough.
We will be keeping you updated as much as possible.
    Jackie

  26. Densey and Mary, we have never met, but I did have the pleasure of meeting your mother and sister in the ICU at the hospital. My cousin was in a motorcycle accident and airlifted to the same hospital, from IN. I spent a few nights with those incredibly strong women and we each prayed for each others family members. I occasionally google your name just to check in on you, and I am thrilled at the progress you are making. I look forward to more good new in the coming weeks!

  28. Densey and Mary,

I wanted to stop by and leave a note for you guys, and let everyone know that the Metro Area Graffiti Task Force fo Denver is going to have a bbq for you guys once Densey is able to venture outside the hospital. I saw Densey the other day and he is really improving his arm and finger motion and learning to drive that fancy wheelchair pretty good!

I will stop by again my next day on duty and see how you are doing.

  34. Densey, not following news too much we heard thru a facebook connection yesterday what happened and have been distraught the last couple of days as everyone has been since the accident, We have gone thru every news clipping to catch up and cannot stop trying to think how we can help.
It has been year's since I have heard your name. I have thought about you, keith, and the Bath and Body Works gang many times over the last few years. We all had so much fun joking around and partying. The last time I saw you was at Howl at the Moon about 4 years when I introduced you to my now husband, Dave. We will continue to track your recovery, and will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.
    Your Friend,
    Stacey Rabinowitz Palansky
